Definitely impressed by this build thread! I think the bill from all the OEM replacement parts would make me faint. I've got the exact same rust problem to fix behind the front fenders.

Thanks for the kind words. I wanted to document the whole build. My last GVR4 I didn't have any really detailed pictures of what I did to the car. I just drove it daily and enjoyed it. That is why I am taking alot of pictures so I can look back and see the work I did. I have been lucky with my local Mistubishi dealer and my powder coater they have been really great. Giving me a super deal on pricing. Really helping me out.

Got the front steering rack back from a fresh rebuild. Ready for install.

Just waiting on a few bolts to come from Mitsubishi then I can start putting it back together.

Thanks for looking.

Did you order your tie rod boots from Mitsubishi or come with the rebuilt rack? I picked mine yo from rock auto and they don't fit over the inner part of the rack.

You have to get the Moog boots (or bellows) that are MADE IN JAPAN. I bought the Beck/Arnley's and they were made in taiwan and couldn't get them on. So I ordered the Moog's and the one made in Taiwan was the SAME EXACT boot as the Beck/Arnley. They use plastic zip ties too. The Japan made Moog has metal straps and a different material.

The build looks awesome so far!! Where are you getting all of your OEM parts? Just from the dealer? I figured some of the parts would be discontinued. I bought a bunch of OEM stuff from my local dealer, but they were mostly nuts and bolts, which I'm sure are used on more than one car for a lot of them.

I am getting from a local dealer near me. I have a friend that works there so the discount is good. Alot of them are discontinued. Nuts and bolts are good as they fit different models.
