fixing my a/c. have question

Does anyone know what oil(lube) I have to use on o-rings when you putting a/c line back together?

Whatever oil your putting in the system that is compatible with the refrigerant your going to charge the system with. If your using R12 then refrigerant grade mineral oil. If your using R134a then either Poly Alkyl Glycol(PAG) or Poly Ester (POE) oil. Its just to lube the rings so they will seal and not bind when you tighten.

You could probably use a little 3-in-1 oil as a substitute. You could also use air compressor oil or air-tool oil.

Refrigerant oil can be obtained from any auto parts store. Preferably someplace that sells to auto repair shops because they will have a better selection. 3-in-1 oil and/or air compressor/tool oil can be obtained at any hardware store and most grocery stores, Walmart, etc.

Just don't use detergent motor oil like what goes in our engine or anything like wd-40.

I think I just used dielectric grease on my A/C O-rings.
