Will a '92 tranny fit in a '95 GSX?

I have a '92 GVR4, someone is interested in dropping it in a '95 GSX, will it fit?
does everything match up?

No, a 2g trans will go into a 1g/vr4, but not the other way around.

 

another person told me that if you switch the mounting setup from the 2g tranny over on to the 1g it will fit

 

That might work for the side trans mount but the rear mount on a 2g bolts to the transmission and there are no provisions for it on a 1g transmission. More hassle than it's worth, just find the right trans.
