Which cranks are forged?

Are our cranks forged? Is it just the turbo 4g63's? What about the 4g64, g4cs, and n/a 4g63 cranks?

Also, I remember reading in Car Craft that if you "LIGHTLY" tap the crankshaft with say a small wrench or a bolt and if the crank rang like a bell it was forged. The only problem I have with this theory is all the cranks I have ring like bells.

I'm dropping off my block today at the machinist. He said the g4cs crank is forged, it's just not treated for strength.

Nitrided?

 

Nitriding is for hardness, and cryo isn't done so much by commoners.

 

The 4g64 cranks are forged correct?

All these cranks are forged, according to my engine builder. It's just that the mitsu turbo cranks are treated for hardness.
