Is a used 5k miles 68hta for 750 a good deal?

What kind of shape is it in? Miles don't really tell much about what shape a turbo is in. For all we know Yao could've been the previous owner.

If it's a reputable seller and you can trust his word then that's a good deal. I'd personally want to examine the turbo myself if I were you. Being that it's only an hour away, I'd see if you guys could meet up half way or something. Plus you'd save on shipping.

He's in LA area so I will check it out, what do I need to look at? Or look for?

Definitely check the compressor wheel. See if it spins freely. Check for any shaft play in any direction. Check for any chips n nicks on the turbine/compressor blades. Also examine it for cracks that usually show up on the turbine side.

Check it for axial and radial play per the limits posted in the linked thread. Axial (in/out) is what you really need to pay attention to. Also be sure to check it for FOD, damaged housings and ensure it spins freely.
