I guess I'm out of the loop. They're all v-band designed. I hear they're pricey though.

Bazeng, I share your pain. How long did it take to tighten the 2 bolts in the back /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Just gotta have the right tools and flat surfaces and no worries /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like v-bands, but wouldn't switch over *just* for that....Than I'd have to have all the mating pieces 'upgraded' with the flanges, and that gets $$$...Maybe on a future turbo I will.

V-bands aren't THAT great - with heat (and time) they will loosen and allow things to rotate. My downpipe is a vband connection, and so is my wastegate and dumptube. They will loosen.

Not all vbands are created equal.

I tried a few, and the ones i bought from FP turned out to to be the best. I went over 10k miles without anything loosening up.

v-bands work ood as long as you use a new gasket and safety wire the clamp after you tighten it, then it will last as long as you dont cut the wire off, and as for the bolts, I found that 90 degree open end wrenches are a life saver, and a knuckle saver too
