I think you should make the trailer using the front 1/2 with windshield. Or similar to THIS but facing the other direction. Install red LEDs (brakes) in the headlight enclosures, etc. The hood length being roughly double that of the trunk lid would give you better access. Perfect project for bobdole hood struts! HERE is a site with a few varieties.
