I've used a huge set of channel locks to actually grip onto the sleeve itself and twisting it to break it free.

I've also used the various chop/fire methods, too, which I can't argue with. :)
 

dam i feel really lucky. mine only took a little tap to get off. I'm glad i didnt have to go through all that

I recommend before you install the new shocks to apply some antiseize on the knuckle shaft and sleeve. So for future removal..it won't be so hard. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
