Just want to logic check a no-start diagnosis before I head out, to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. fackin car /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

General:
- car was running fine when put in storage. Took out of storage, battery, fuel, & oil all acceptable.
- Drove ~15m with no issues at all, not very spirited driving, temp is fine. Cruising at 3000rpm, it sputters/dies in a fairly calm fashion with no nasty noises or smoke.
- Afterword will crank strong, just no start. Got a sputter ONCE.
- Fairly confident electrical is OK. ECU cel at "on" check, ECU is nice, alt & battery strong. Fuel pump/MPI OK.

Troubleshoot:
- OIL: looks like a little water contamination from sitting but acceptable
- AIR: everything looks connected, couplers etc. GM MAF & elec. connections look fine on inspection
- FUEL: 37PSI at AFPR. Didn't test individual injectors yet (that seems unlikely to me, more of a "after it's towed" step)
- TIMING: check belt, rotate to check cams line up, eyeball crank lineup
- SPARK: going to pull each plug and check by sparking against head. Inspect plugs.
- COMPRESSION: last test before tow, need to tow it today if no luck.

"sputtering" while cranking points to a fuel issue. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Got a noid lite to check injector operation?

If not, take a mechanics stethescope and listen at the base of the injector.

You can also check for spark/fuel with a spare cas.

Pull the plug wires off the spark plugs, install an extra set of plugs in them and then lay them on the valve cover. Unplug the cas (leave it installed), plug in your spare and spin it with the key on.

Should see a strong spark and hear the injectors operating.

Go easy on this test, as you can wash the rings if you spin the cas excessively.

edit you leave the old plugs in to prevent external combustion

If you have any spare harnesses sections, you can de-pin another connector and use it in that location

edit didn;t see that you were still stranded.

stick a straight pin into the connector pin (it's hollow) from the rear, crimp a but connector on it and drive that bitch home
