Hey guys,

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't replaced a head on a 4g63 in over 6 years and I have forgotten a few things. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The motor is still in the car and I need a way to clean the block surface without droping debris into the oil holes of the deck surface. I cannot remember the best method to do this. My best guess is a head bolt/washer droped into the oil hole to prevent debris from falling in while running a wire brush on the deck surface...

Any other suggestions?

Paper towel in the holes and use razors to clean the deck surface. Hold blade at an angle and don't scratch the deck. Never use a wire brush on the deck surface. It needs to be smooth, not all scratched up!
