knock sensor

I just bought a 2g knock sensor for my AEM EMS, i was curious so i hooked it up to a voltmeter on ohms, and nuthing came up it wasn't even going to zero. just like the 2 wires weren't connected. is this normal? or did i get a bad sensor?

Sounds right. Test it by switching to the volts scale and tapping on the sensor. Knock sensors send a voltage signal when detecting knock. I don't think that the crystals have a resistance value. Not too positive on this though.
