the same fuel rail that will fit any eclipse turbo!
we have the same engine! exact same!
Why are you changing the fuel rail anyway? they flow enough pump gas for 500 horse. and enough race gas or e85 for over 400

no need to change rail ,you can polish the stock one ,I even tapped mine for a fuel pressure guage.The 1g/vr4 is the best rail
save your money for something that needs upgrading

Umm, that was the model year they went to a "rotated" engine/transaxle. Do the EVO8 fuel rails bolt in with that configuration? Might be a better comparison.
Not sure if the mounting bosses will line up but maybe one of the UK guys will chime in...

Evo 1-3 has the same mounting holes but the flanges are rotated a bit but should work.

The injector spacings (along the rail) should be similar.
If you align it so the 2 bolts that fix it to the manifold/head you'd only have to worry about the fuel line fitting and the FPR fitting being the correct diameter. And if the diameter of the rail is the same at each end, and both fittings are the same dia as the rail....
That being said, the VR4 fittings have a smaller dia to the Evo 1-3 fittings and most likely the Evo 4+ fittings too. Can't see why the Evo 4 fuel rail, lines and fittings wouldn't be too far off from fitting, just have to put the fuel feed and fuel pressure reg on opposite ends from the factory evo 4.

Evo 4-8 manifolds have two mounting bosses for the rail to the intake manifold. Galant and Evo 1-3 have three.
The Evo 1-3 is a confirmed fit on the Galant head. I had that last year.
4-9 is a no go without mods at least. (or if the outer two holes are in alignment and you skip the middle mounting hole.)

Now the EVO 1-3 have the same orientation, and same engine execpt for differences in turbos and injectors.
OK so in the EVO 4 mitsu decided to address the weak transmission issues and when they did they found that it no longer fit right so they rotated the engine to the right side.
this is where parts dont fit anymore. EVO 4-9 and 10 are not interchangable.

Where are the turbo and intake manifolds located on the USDM cars? Now rotate that engine 180 degrees. Where does that put the manifolds? The EVO4-9 would place the turbo in the rear, wait a minute the turbo is on the front?!? That would mean the head casting is DIFFERENT on the EVO4 ( which is what the fuel rail fitment is on the first post ).
SO if the rail bosses were to mount up ( on the DIFFERENT head castings ) it's a go.
Weaker tranny or torque steer? The current configuration makes the driveshafts equal-length ( which helps reduce TS ).

Why waste your time trying to mod a fuel rail that doesn't fit to fit when you won't even see and difference in power and you can just buy an aeromotive rail or any other rail that fits the eclipse, talon, lazer, or vr-4?

Ok the sard unit probably won't work for what i'm trying to do, but the hks evo 2~3 unit will. Can any of you nz or aussie guys confirm that the hks unit has a center outlet like the one pictured below? hks # 1407-RM003. Pictured is a supra rail.
