check engine light

got a check engine light put the scan tool on and getting no power from the plug.checked all fuses and they are fine what else do i look for.

Give it more than a couple hours.

What do you mean not getting power? Like connecting to a 5V or 12V supply? Or not getting a signal from the ECU?

The diagnostic plug doesn't supply any power, only communications. Have you tried the alternate way to read the codes:

I like using a 12 volt LED from Radio Shack.

If that doesn't work check the wiring for continuity.
