  1. 713/1000

Wow oh wow! I came back to this site to see if I could find out what happened to 713. I had no idea it had 2 more owners after I sold it. I bought the car from 4wheelsqueal. I always admired these cars, but I learned real quick that I didn't have the knowledge or funds to keep the car in...
  2. New owner and first DSM 713/1000

I just saw this thread. I must have sold this car to your friend. I bought it off 4wheelsqueal last fall. Your buddy must not have owned it that long. I sold the car just a few months ago. 4wheelsqueal did a ton of work to this car. I am not mechanically inclined enough to own a turbo...
  3. FS: 92 Grey Galant VR4 (713/1000) Oconomowoc, WI $2400 OBO

Quoting deusamo: Is it still non-abs and no cruise control? Also, did anyone ever figure out the switchable t-case and tranny? Have you done anything for the surface rust of the undercarriage?Sorry forgot to answer about the transmission. The JDM transmission needs different differentials...
  4. FS: 92 Grey Galant VR4 (713/1000) Oconomowoc, WI $2400 OBO

It's still non abs. No cruise control. The underside looks the same as the pictures indicate. It's not too bad.
  5. FS: 92 Grey Galant VR4 (713/1000) Oconomowoc, WI $2400 OBO

I had to call 4wheelsqueal for the above info. The bottom end has about 10,000 miles. The top end was rebuilt before Andy put it in, so that has 4,000 miles on it.Andy also reminded me that the drive shaft is new as well.I should have included this info in my original post, but it's hard...

  7. Help with problem... Fuel cut?

New fuel filter didn't do it. Could this be a mass airflow sensor problem? I have a spare I could swap out to try. Or is this a fuel related problem?
  8. Help with problem... Fuel cut?

I'll check the fuel filter first. That seems like an easy start. Thanx for everyone's help.
  9. Help with problem... Fuel cut?

Here's what my car does. Whenever I get into boost the car falls flat on it's face. It's like it's trying to push a 18-wheeler or something. This happens right around 4 psi of boost. Is this fuel cut happening in a massive way? Driving an hour on the highway today I had to very gingerly...
  10. WTB: Stock Wastegate Actuator

I bought one from a guy on the DSM board. I'll let you know if that falls through. Thanx for the quick reply.
  11. WTB: Stock Wastegate Actuator

In need of a stock wastegate actuator for my 14B.
  12. Exhaust Questions.

Which Ebay downpipe should I purchase as a start? I'm having an exhaust shop fab up the rest.
  13. Exhaust Questions.

I don't have time to drive to Indianapolis at the moment, but I'll keep it in mind. On that subject though...I plan to stay at stock boost. Isn't 3 inch overkill for that?
  14. Exhaust Questions.

I'm going to replace my entire exhaust from the turbo to the muffler including a new high flow cat. My plan is to have a custom cat-back made. Here are my questions: Should I get a 1st Gen DSM GSX downpipe or a 2nd gen DSM GSX downpipe since I'll be having an exhaust shop make the rest? Any...
  15. Is my wastegate shot?

The car is stock accept for a EVO 3 manifold and better fuel pump. I thought stock boost was around 9 psi especially since I hooked the factory boost solenoid back up.
  16. Is my wastegate shot?

For the last 6 months I have had my wastegate line hooked directly up to the J-pipe. As of recently the car will boost up to 15psi and taper off to about 10psi. For kicks I hooked up the factory boost selenoid, and the car still does the same thing. Is that a sign that I need a new wastegate...
  17. Wastegate Actuator Arm

Andrew, As you know I have a limited supply of mechanic tools. You would have laughed at me on saturday if you could have watched me struggling with this stupid thing before I called you. I figured I'd buy myself a vice grips since they come in handy on other things as well before I unbolted...
  18. Wastegate Actuator Arm

Quick update. I went to the hardware store and got a small vice grips. That did the trick. I was able to easily pull the actuator arm onto the flapper valve.
  19. Wastegate Actuator Arm

    Thank you.
  20. Wastegate Actuator Arm

What needs to be taken off first to do the above method?
  21. Wastegate Actuator Arm

The clip on my wastegate actuator arm broke and caused the arm to come off. What's the best way to reattach it? I can pull it with my hand, but I can't hold it and reattach it that way. Should I use a vice grips or something?

  24. Rear Differential Leak

I have a small leak coming from my rear diff cover. Should I use RTV or a factory Mitsubishi gasket to correct the problem?
  25. thedsmguy

Great guy here! Not many people are willing to sell smaller parts as they are a "waste of their time". Not Paul! I needed 8 lug nuts, and he gave me a very fair price and shipped them out quickly. I'll go to him for parts in the future.

  31. Replacing speedometer cable

Thanx for the quick reply. Is it easy to fish the speedometer cable from the engine bay to behind the gauge cluster?
  32. Replacing speedometer cable

I have to replace my speedometer cable soon. I found a thread while searching that describes how to remove the cable from the transmission. How do you remove the cable from inside the car where it's behind the gauge cluster? I know how to get the gauge cluster off. I had to do this to verify...
  33. cleanly/ best vacuum routing

The picture looks good, but mine is a little different. I read that you may have more boost spiking if you use the intake manifold source for the MBC. I used the fitting on the pipe coming off the turbo to connect to the MBC. This allowed me to use very short lines going to and coming from...
  34. Max PSI on stock fuel maps?

I've been trying to get an answer from searching here and other dsm forums. What is the max boost on the 14B that the stock ecu fuel maps will compensate for? I'm curious as I have read that the stock GVR4 and 1st Gen dsm will boost anywhere from 8 to 12 psi from the factory depending on who...
  35. Idles lower and lower

Quoting SouthCaliVR4: Check your base idle. the small screw head in a cavity on the throttle body. OE is a small black rubber plug covering the screw. Sounds like the idle was set cold & as the cold idle valve closes your idle drops off to stall. This right here helped me. My car would idle...
  36. New owner 671/1000 Denver CO

Welcome. I'm new to the forums as well. Your car is a sleeper. The body looks to be in decent shape, but obviously driven. Nice engine bay! How's the exhaust set up with the straight pipe? Is it obnoxious?
  37. new owner of 713/1000

"Actually, justin, he's correct, I told you incorrectly that it was a jdm one. It is out of an '89. The jdm one would be on the other side of the car. Sorry, my mistake."Cool. good to know. It amazes me that when people know the "ins" and "outs" of a particular car they can easily point out...
  38. new owner of 713/1000

The under dash tray is jdm. The other parts of the interior were pointed out correctly. The EVO 8 cd player will be pulled out today in favor of a Sony Deck with Ipod hook up, but I'll be keeping the EVO 8 stereo. I have a feeling I'll use it for something down the road.
  39. new owner of 713/1000

My stock "VR4" panel was cracked where the lights screw in. My plan was to swap good lights from the es panel to the vr4 panel until I discovered that the panel itself was cracked. So, I just swapped the entire panel over.

  42. new owner of 713/1000

Hello to everyone. Great site you have here. I recently purchased 713/1000 from my buddy Andrew (4wheelsqueal). I've loved these cars for quite a while, and when Andrew decided to part with this one I jumped on it. So so so much has been done to this car! Low mileage JDM tranny, rebuilt top...
