  1. WTB: Bitcoins

i used to, but cashed them out when they blew up. i had 12btc. there's some good bank converters where you go deposit cash in an account and for a small fee the route it over to your wallet. it's easy and fairly inexpensive.
  2. squeezing out the HP

I will see if the boost/ timing can be more aggressive. I will try to get some logs up. Thanks again for the good advice.
  3. squeezing out the HP

I did compression maybe a month ago. Compression was something around 170 on all four. It didn't vary much either between the cylinders either. I will do it again tomorrow to see if anything has changed though.
  4. squeezing out the HP

I'll see if I can fix whatever is up with my link cable, pour in some q16 and do a couple third gear pulls and log it. I'll also focus on different areas like I take temp before and after IC, and timing. Thanks for everyone's help.
  5. squeezing out the HP

Doing a leak test higher is a great idea. I've only been testing where the pump tune was set at I imagine I will see where some previously unseen issues are located. Thanks!
  6. squeezing out the HP

Yes it's the 8cm housing. Like I said earlier, i know that the tune is conservative and they left it at 31.2psi and I know Lucas and Aaron tune to zero knock so the timing isn't as aggressive as it could be. I'm sure I can turn the boost up and adjust timing accordingly on q16 and still be in a...
  7. squeezing out the HP

i felt that my jmf intake and exhaust mani were fine. i've seen many of you make more power on the same 1g tb and 2g manifold so that's why i started this thread. i'm not into jdm bling parts and spending money on stuff just to make me feel cool.:rollseyes:that's why the original post said i...
  8. squeezing out the HP

sorry my previous post was off a phone that i typed this morning in response to G... bad connection so for some reason it posted way late. I didnt see any of the replies after reply number three. dont give me a hard time for not even seeing what youve said yet. give me a minute to catch up...
  9. squeezing out the HP

Excellent. I will check out the hypertune mani/ tb combo then, guess you're right about the intake side being a bottleneck. Is the hypertune twice as good as the Magnus v3 cast aluminum intake mani? Should I go for the large port and a 90mm tb? I see why the 1g tb is a bottleneck now, when it...
  10. squeezing out the HP

Thanks for replying. As for budget, I don't mind spending money on mg galant, obviously. I am aware that this hobby costs thousands of dollars, but I buy things that are needed at a realistically moderated budget. For example, I bought a Journal bearing turbo versus it's ball bearing...
  11. squeezing out the HP

I wanted to start a discussion on some of the successful tips and techniques many of you have used before to dial in a moderately to highly modified setup. When you're at the point where you have your car freshly built, tuned, and it doesn't make as much power as you thought it should. When you...
  12. WTB: pass fender, good cond, summit white preferred

  13. WTB: Metal skirt under headlights/grille

  18. Failing turbo seals... A few q's

Awesome I really appreciate your advice. Lots of people think it's that the catch can isn't working properly but it's disconnected from the intake so the oil obviously cannot be coming from the catch can. The only place it can be from is the turbo... So I have some work to do :/
  19. Failing turbo seals... A few q's

By the way, sorry about the upside Down pic
  20. Failing turbo seals... A few q's

To clarify, the catch can has been drained and disconnected and the line recirculating to the intake was disconnected to rule out blow by. The only place this can be coming from is the turbo. I'm sure the intercooler is full of oil too, but the strange part is that the car doesn't smoke. Not...
  21. Failing turbo seals... A few q's

So the car never smokes which surprises me, but a lot of oil is getting pushed past the seals. I have a few questions:Can I still drive on this in vac? How much longer do I have? If it fails fully, will it compromise the motor?Thanks.-tyler
  22. Innovate wideband install questions

Here's a rough pic of the ecu. #15 is the egr input. What do I need to do to get the analog wideband wire into that slot? Also, what should I pull power off of for the gauge? Thanks!
  23. Innovate wideband install questions

I've done my best trying to search all forums involved, and figured I would ask my questions here. I've never really opened up and gotten into tuning dsm's, was always a fabricator, so my knowledge of many of these things is limited. The wide and is an innovate mtx-l. I plan on running it in...

  26. Serious Knock issue

thank you i will dig in today.
  27. Serious Knock issue

This has become such a headacheI have lost confidence in their abilities as a shop in being able to fix what they've wronged. My car ran great when I brought it in and now it's totally whack. They pulled everything apart, and realized that the timing was off one tooth. After everything was...
  28. Serious Knock issue

So base timing is set to 5 degrees, the gears line up perfectly. I am wondering if this knock issue has anything to do with the urethane engine mounts and vibration being read my the knock sensor. Also, the shop seemingly put the exhaust back together without gaskets (because they didnt have...
  29. Serious Knock issue

Thank you! I will check it out and report back. The car hits knock and starts pulling timing and loses power even at 1 or 2 psi as read on the guage.
  30. Serious Knock issue

Thank you. I will adjust base timing to 5 degrees and see what happens.
  31. Serious Knock issue

First things first, I am very new to tuning turbo cars. Ive owned more than one vr4 but have never gotten around to heavily modifying one.Anyway, Bought 659/1000 recently and have had the timing belt, water pump, balancing shafts, oil pump, engine seals, and drive belts, and some other minor...
  32. When did you fall in love with the GVR4

In 2009 I was in college and was obsessed with cutting up 80's toyota 4x4's and off roading them. I wanted a car version of an offroad vehicle, thus I started saving money forever to buy an evo III that a guy had in the states I knew about. Then one day like magic, sitting parked in front of my...

  36. WTB: AMG 3-pc wing

I know they're very hard to come by. Ive been looking forever and have heard a few people removing them from their cars so I figured I would give it a shot and see if anyone would be willing to part with an AMG wing. Thanks!
