    WTB: Rear hubs

Kinda a last try... Wanted: both rear hubs from 3 bolt (original?) yoke out. No rotors. I'd rather rebuild a rear set of hubs while I drive the car, then do an easy swap out. All the bearings and seals are still available and I have all the right tools so rebuilding my own is no big deal...

WTB OEM rear Differential (Stock with pump)

Hey Turbofonz, can you PM me with approximate location and asking price? You are right, shipping is sure to be a beast, but if I can save an OEM part from the scrapers it may be worth while.Vince

So what was your answer to a dead MFI Injector relay?

Yeah, it has just happened to me, and of course it is a long out of production part. Arte the Eclipse relays compatible? Those even cross to a new Standard something ,RY- something at $120+. I'm not afraid of the price as much as not wanting to spend the cash and not be compatible. What has...

WTB OEM rear Differential (Stock with pump)

My diff is in desperate need of repair or replacement. I'm looking for an original to R&R my bad one. If the teeth are still in good shape, but needs seals or shims is fine. Washington State area is preferable as I can pick up. Otherwise we can talk about shipping costs. Thanks Vince

    Windshield trim installation question

Darn.... Gotta go with VR485 on this I guess... Still on OEM glass, so it is hard to refuteI wanted it to be flush Soooooo bad.... But I'll accept the lifted edge on the glass as normal! Thanks all!

    Windshield trim installation question

OuchAfter 100+ reads, I have one yea, and one Nay.Not meaning to annoy anyone, but my memory is having fits thinkin it was all flush. Just a consensus so I can leave the poor guy at the glass shop alone, or jump down his throat and get it re-seated.Have a great weekend!

    Windshield trim installation question

GreetingsSo after having the windshield replaced, I noticed the side trim pieces did not set flush to the glass but were raised. I was told this was by design as a rain channel.Hard to get a pic with the reflection n such, but if you look close, the red line indicates the widths edge, and...

    15's on the Galant

Agreed, and good to know, as I was looking at OEM sizes. Probably should buy a set soon before they disappear!Still unfortunate that none of the available compounds are a match to what I run on all other (and past) cars, but they are certainly better than basic All Seasons! Thanks!

    15's on the Galant

The bad part about even considering 15" rims is that the size tire itself is being discontinued. All performance 15" tires have vanished except for a few remaining basic all season tires with dismal 'soccer mom' compounds.I need tires, but have to look at bumping to 16s rims just to get a...

    Help replacong rear axle bearings.

Thanks IcemanMitsu actually sold the whole assembly (MB569254), hub, bearings, gear, back flange and all (about $200/ea). This was my preference as I can accomplish a swap without serious effort. Now seeing that the assembly is no longer available, I'll have to resort to replacing the...

Sigh...... Well after that fiasco, it turns out the correct rear hub assembly is no longer available from Mitsu..... That leaves me with just having the bearings replaced, which I cant do myself... grrrrrBefore I go to the WTB section, do any of you know of a source outside Mitsu that might...

    Help replacong rear axle bearings.

OK, Thanks... I think...So here (see link) is the replacement clickIt has both inner and outer bearings, so if I understand correctly, a slide puller will separate the existing hub from its mounting without further disassembly on the back side of the trailing arm. Correct?I assume that...

    Help replacong rear axle bearings.

Just another delay that is slightly annoying. I have new Rear axle bearings and hub assembly.Looking at the shop manual, (and other FWD cars I have done) it is a straight forward job.... Until I pull the rotor, and see there is no axle nut or washer. Just a solid unit with no visible...

    rear tie rod part numbers?

I do indeed mean the rear tie rod ends for the steering rack, however I thank TPD for the link.As 1212 is getting new rear hubs w/bearings, and (hopefully?) new rear tie rod ends, I might as well replace the sway bar stuff while there. I know my fronts Sway links were shot and got...

Quoting 4Grim: Wow...very clean Galant, I love it!Also..didn't know VR4's were offered with A/T from factory, that's pretty cool to know.Same here... I didn't know they had a cloth seat option either... but then I've only seen maybe two other VR4s and they were leather like mine...

Thread Jack... My Apologies... Are the OEM rubber boots totally inaccessible at this point in the Galants life? (Used or otherwise) Has the material not stood up to time, or are there good ones out there that folks just did not like and replaced?Just curious, as I like my OEM, but it is...

    So why no RIP registry?

I'm not going to get into it to deeply here, cause I'm just not 'in the know', but I don't believe ANY car can be discounted as of no potential future value. My own GMC Beau James was just a stickered c1500 chassis with a few specialties (http://home.netcom.com/~rvtucker/beaujame.html) and a...

    Tires

Others may have better words, but talking tires is like talking oils... Opinions vary.... A '95 VR4 has me stumped in the first place. Imported from Canada I assume? What's the rim size? For tires, it's best to know your driving preferences. Is this your daily driver? Family mover...

Power steering delete rear subframe rack question.

So.... I guess I have had enough beer to play devils advocate, and maybe admit my stupidity on both the platform, and typing while drunk... :^pMany threads talk about the RWS delete, and I question "why?". That I am aware, the history of the car itself shows it is a championship winning car...

    So why no RIP registry?

Thanks raptorWagon,Maybe I'm a tad paranoid after helping folks avoid $10K losses... Just seems the GVR4 is on the rise in collectability. And I see so many posts about folks wanting and buying all the side trim. Not to mention proudly proclaiming they remove and/or sell badge numbers from...

    So why no RIP registry?

Quoting donniekak:What are their less than honorable intentions? It would be a ton of work, time, and money to convert a non vr4 to a vr4 including swapping all vin and chassis codes. And for what, to sell the car for $5000-$8000?So I guess that is a part of the equation. The bits and...

    So why no RIP registry?

OK, so I recognize the VR-4 label was mass produced worldwide, and only a limited numbers imported to the US.My counter question is 'Did Mitsubishi import any identical cars to the VR-4 into the US market?' Were there AWD, AWS, Turbo Galants without the VR-4 badge sold to the US market?My...

    So why no RIP registry?

So as we know, 26 years has seen the demise of many a VR-4.... Totaled, fire, flood, rusted out or what ever. What I do see is many owners selling off the original plaque, and often to an buyer with less than honorable intentions. I've encountered this with other 'limited production' vehicles...

    Hidden improvments from OEM

Appreciated Misterfixit.ECU has been swapped a couple times now. I do have interest in the ECMlink, so when money is flowing from my pockets it will be an upgrade. The OEM stereo went away years ago, and now with the times, I have gone modern for hands free-n-such. Thanks for the heads up on...

    Hidden improvments from OEM

OK iceman, thanks for the data. So far the 5spd is doing fine, although 3rd has been a small issue missing the shift, and reverse is annoying as it wont engage without a little clutch play. Is this common and adjustable? Or does it take the more modern synchros to solve those minor issues?

    Hidden improvments from OEM

Thanks, Iceman, I think your closer to what I was trying to ask. I'm sure I could have worded it better with a few less beers!I, like many here had dreams of taking a '91, and reviving its 'sleeper' capabilities. But I also have 2010 Jaguar XKR, so I already get the rush of 500+ ponies...

    Hidden improvments from OEM

So, recently I have been hit by multitudes of complements about my "un-molested" VR-4.
