From what i have observed is decent ones are still fetching for reasonable prices like 5k. Really nice, near mint, or 100% OEM unmolested are fetching near or above 10k.

Rust like everyone mentioned and check thoroughly the areas that Bonecollector mentioned.Like most DSM's, GVR4's could of have previous owners that did half ass jobs on modifications or fixes. Inspect the wiring in the motor bay and if possible the interior. Any signs of weird janky installs...

7g 97-98 shared the same injector clips as the 2g's did.

Have you checked for any leaks on the hot side? Piping from the I/C to the throttle body?I had a similar issue years ago and found out I had a leak from the TB.

No real need to do a inline fuel pump setup...plenty of people have made great power with the stock intake setup. Just upgrade your pump and rewire and you are good.
