That would be a pretty monumental undertaking with very limited aftermarket support. Different motor mount locations and packaging that was already incredibly tight and hard to work on in the engine bay
I’m assuming that your “simple” Galant is a 1993 or older 6th gen normally aspirated 2.0L 4G63 FWD that looks similar to most of the cars pictured on this website, and not the larger 7th or 8th gen model).
A more attainable swap or upgrade in that case would be a 4G63 turbo motor.
If you are talking about a 93/94 and later 7/8th generation galant that came with different I4 and V6 engine options, it may be possible but you’re probably in fairly uncharted territory for this community.
For 7th gen and later cars, Theres a “ClubVR4” forum site of folks mostly outside the US that might have more detailed knowledge of the later model cars. Someone else on here might know better, but not a lot of the US based folks on this website have that much experience with the later cars.
