    Definitely check the compressor wheel. See if it spins freely. Check for any shaft play in any direction. Check for any chips n nicks on the turbine/compressor blades. Also examine it for cracks that usually show up on the turbine side.

    If it's a reputable seller and you can trust his word then that's a good deal. I'd personally want to examine the turbo myself if I were you. Being that it's only an hour away, I'd see if you guys could meet up half way or something. Plus you'd save on shipping.
