  1. What happened to 1062?

Yes I am still around. I have been off the internet for a while but I will try and poke around more. Yes I have had a busy family life and the racecar took the back seat. I will look at my build thread and come up with a good update. After many changes the new braking part is the...
  2. The never ending build of 1062.

I picked up the drive shaft shop stage 5 rear axles, they are more then strong enough. So the next step will be the 3000gt rear diff and DSS shortens the axles and puts on the right ends for this. That's a over the winter project. I will get another update with the pics and an updated mod...
  3. The never ending build of 1062.

Where to start....So the fuel change was a good thing for the car, off E98 and onto RAT K16. ATM we are at 72-74% duty cycle @42psi and log wise the car is happy. It has not lifted the head, even though its spendy I now have some street miles on the car and built up the confidence I need...
  4. The never ending build of 1062.

Broken synchro springs made it a short weekend. We managed 1 full pass, 11.8@130mph not setting records, but this was with only 22psi of boost. I will get the trans fixed and back out asap.
  5. The never ending build of 1062.

I had been running e98 for the last 4 years. And I had a quarter master twin disk for the last 5 years.
  6. The never ending build of 1062.

Long time no post, I am still trying, 2014 was a wash. But things are looking up for 2015.If all goes well we should be up in BIR for PG #1. We have put a few miles on the motor and at WG pressure everything is looking really good. I plan to take it out for a 3rd gear hit at WG pressure...
  7. how many of you have a "budget"build on your GVR4?

1062, hum ya sure.I bought the car in 2001 for 4500 it had 77,000 miles on it, it was my very first car, and it was as stock as stock could get.As for money in, at this point I have no idea. I think I drove it stock for 3 months then it started needing or I put parts into it, I have paid...
  8. Last time out with 431 at island dragway....

I had a few things work out this year. The fuel system upgrades netted 90% duty cycle on my injectors vs 120+, the catch can with drain back into block worked great, and the billet 76mm BW turbo showed great improvements over the Garrett 4202. My main issue was I had not tracked the car in...
  9. Last time out with 431 at island dragway....

That Is a crazy wrist pin, way thicker then what I have now even.
  10. Last time out with 431 at island dragway....

Now that is how you brake a motor, daum.I had been running the best of the best CP wrist pin, when they built my Carrillo rods and CP pistons we did the 22mm and thick wall. well after 8 of them bent I upped my game and found a set with the right dimensions and seem to be holding up good so...
  11. When did you fall in love with the GVR4

So if anyone could guess my Dad was into Big, dirty v-8 things with calibrated leaks on top of them. And he drove #1062 home from work one day and said, "Son it needs some break work and a standard tune up". So there it sat, until we wanted to know what was up with this white 4 door family car...
  12. The never ending build of 1062.

I will try and make it out there next year. For now I can hit up BIR, Rock Falls or Cedar falls for some full passes this year. Stuff is coming together for 2013.
  13. The never ending build of 1062.

IDK if the shoot out in Ohio is in the cards this year. But I hope with any luck I will have the block back by Thursday this week, and the few small parts I am waiting on, and then its a few days of hoopla to get it up and running for the MAP Proving grounds at BIR on the weekend of June 21.~John
  14. The never ending build of 1062.

Getting a slow start on the season, o well. I have 1 tranny complete, and the other one just needs to be re-assembled. The motor is hard blocked, and honed .020" over for the pistons, and the mains are line honed. Now I just need to port the hard block to get water flowing, bring the block...
