Power window issue

I'm going through my new car and have a problem with the windows. If I put the key in on or acc, they won't work. I've tried a good switch panel, with no change. Out of curiosity, I turned the key to start and held it while trying the windows, and all but the pass/rear will work like this. What gives? I don't notice any bad wiring, swapped out the two rear doors and am doing the front later today. Is there something else I'm missing? All interior/exterior lights work, locks work, alarm works, everything but the windows.

Ok, finished swapping out all doors, now they will all four work, but ONLY when I hold the key in the start position. Any thoughts?

Only when the car is cranking will they work?

My windows only work in the KEY ON (2nd click) position. They will work in the accessory position immediately after shutting the car off.

Yeah, seems like an ignition switch or power supply to the switch issue (wiring).

Any ideas where to look? I know its not in the doors, all the fuses are good. where is the window control or relay? And why would it work in the start position,, how would it get power there and not anywhere else?

Any other input on this? I've been searching wires, and haven't found anything yet. The windows all work, ONLY when I have the key in crank position, nowhere else. Also, my wipers don't have the delayed off like they should, they just stop wherever they are when you flip the switch. All lights work fine, everything else in the dash works like it should, alarm works, power locks work,, it's just those two things. I will try swapping out the actual ignition switch tomorrow and report, but I'm not sure what else to try.

Make sure the relays sit tightly on the board. Open the underdash panel on driver side. Look up in there above the clutch pedal area. Board is on top of your left shin when sitting on the driver side seat. Multiple big relays on the big board.. They jarred loose after a while. Just push all the relay that is on board inwards.

ok, I pushed in every relay on the board, nothing, so I swapped each one out. Still nothing. Tried another ignition switch, still nothing. Which relay is it specifically so I can start tracing the power?

Also, where is the horn relay, I can't remember. I can't use my CAPS since my cd drive is KIA. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
