Was driving home one day when all of a sudden it just started sputtering and died in the middle of the intersection.
luckily I was only a block away from home.
Ruled out the usual suspects. So while doing the compression test, 1 and 2 were 150 and 155.
3 and 4 were only 40 lbs. So I placed a capful of oil into the cylinder and psi was now at 50,
but when I did 3 I could hear air coming out of 4 and could see a cloud shooting out of it.
Same thing when I did 4, cloud and hissing coming out of 3.
So I figured head gasket.
Left the exhaust manifold and intake on and climbed up into the engine bay and lifted that sumbish out.
Yep, the little spot on the headgasket between 3 and 4 was gone, and the spot on the gasket between 1 and 2 was nearing the same fate.
It was a 1 day job. Much easier leaving the exhaust and intake on the head. car runs much better than before.
