what's the deal with it? They say on the site it supports ford,gm,Honda and nisssan,, so the ostrich emulator does work with our ecu? And how easy is it to work with?

I have v1.0 and have had issues with it. When it works though, it works out awesome.

FYI it's not a chip burner, it's just an emulator, like they say. All it's doing is allowing you to essentially 'burn' new images onto your rom without actually swapping chips out constantly.

Because of it's nature, it's not really user friendly at all, so if you aren't familiar with messing with binary code, it won't be easy. If you have to ask too many questions beyond that, it's probably not the solution you want to go with.

Yeah you dont want an ostrich to burn chips. It is used in DSM's for DSmap or tunerpro for realtime emulation. If you are just looking for a chip burner go with Moates burn 2 or willem eprom burner.

TunerproRT --> www.tunerpro.net

DSmap --> www.ds-map.net

it's easier to just burn chips? And chips are not overwriteable correct?

Eprom chips can be reflashed. But like mentioned early if you dont know anything about binary code it might not be worth pursuing. If you just need a chip burned go with a reputable keydiver chip for your setup. There are many other people that will burn chips for you too but the keydiver chips definately have a good standing rep.

Not by itself it's not without the above mentioned programs. I use Ostrich 2.0 with DS-Map to tune/upload any changes to my tune to the ecu, since going to speed density.

An ostrich alone gives you just as much funtionality as a box of blank eprom chips. It's the software/tuning that goes ON the ostrich/chip that works. Where the ostrich comes in handy is when you have a tuning software behind it that takes advantage of being able to make tune adjustments on the fly without having to dig into the ECU case and swap out the chip.

If you want to run a self tunable DS-Map (awesome) or know how to use TunerPro to tune the stock maf system, this is the way to go.

If your not capable of the tuning aspect with a somewhat "in depth" software, your likely better off with a pre-burned eprom chip from a reputable tuner, then using a piggyback (AFC or like) to fine tune it to your specific car and situation.

There's an ostrich farmer in Florida named Jeff. He's taught all his birds to fly I'd contact him.

Thing is his birds are just damn mean.
