I can get the ECU out in 2-3 mins. You don't go through the front, you get it from underneath.

especially since below temp (can't remember what the temp is exactly d'oh) the ecu pulls timing much in the same way it does when it gets too hot.

Anything under 180degrees and the ecu is still in warm-up mode. I would suggest the stock thermostat for better fuel economy and power. There is zero reason to run the lower temp thermostat in a car that has properly working fans and radiator.

And yeah, the ecu comes out super easy from underneath. One bolt and one nut and the thing slides out with ease.

What's with the super thin flange on that intake? Hope it doesn't leak. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/uhh.gif

Yeah that wasn't worded right.... i was really pissed thinkin it was gonna suck balls looking at the ecu but once i popped the two bolts off and it practically fell out i felt stupid.

figured why not on the thermo.... if it runs wierd i will swap it back.... dont care about fuel economy and only running the half radiator so i wanna make sure it doesn't run to hot....

and not sure what flange your talking about on the intake?

I'm thinking he means the runner flange. The one that bolts to the head. They are usually pretty darn thick to prevent warping under the heat and leaking.

It isn't just a fuel economy thing with the thermostat. What do you think you're going to gain by using the 160degree unit?

And yeah, I'm talking about the flange that bolts to the head.

You cant even start seeing the fuel trims change until about the 180 mark. You are goin to end up chasing your tail trying to tune the thing.

I'm going to have to come by some day and check out this build. Hope to have my car running right in the middle of the week. I like those welds... want to weld a SS o2 bung onto my downpipe? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif
