Without said assholes, Mike would be enjoying a cracked subframe in the near future.

Glad you put the gusset back on.

Ed you weren't being an a-hole just to clarify lol. And thank you. Next thing Samara will get done before the big road trip to the Shootout is change the angle on my down pipe a bit then wrap that, and I wanna fix a boot on the back, I noticed today it had a small hole in it.

Mike,

I cleaned up your thread as you requested but I also removed some of your remarks (just to be fair). I have left in all the comments relating to the gusset. It's an important piece and the fact that it can be reinstalled with the Bullfab stuff is good information to retain for others.

Paul.

Finally finished heat wrapping the rest of my "Exhaust" this weekend, went ahead and changed the oil again as well and switched out the old drain plug with a Mishimoto magnetic one. gonna try to see if i can get one of my rear cv shafts rebuilt this week because one of them has a tear in it, and i dont feel comfortable taking a trip all the way to the shootout with that in the back of my mind.

Runnning it just like this. Later on once I go topmount I'll have a whole new stainless Vband down pipe and full exhaust fabbed up.

So how long does that mean you'll have an exhaust that's only 6" long? I think yer fucking crazy. Why do you have to wait for a different turbo setup to fab the exhaust anyway? The only thing that will change will be the first part of the downpipe. I'm sure that would be a pretty easy modification for whoever is fabbing up the rest of your setup.

yes thats exactly what that means. yeah call me crazy i guess. reason i want to wait is 2 reasons: next setup with be a way different downpipe which would require to be modified if i tried to use this one (unecessary money). other reason is money, it would cost a few hundred to fab up a nice Vband stainless downpipe including the labor. So this works for now. after i get back from the shootout, i'll start saving up for said parts like the JMFab GVR4 specific Top Mount, Wastegates, dump tubes, Vband Downpipe, 2150's and of course the REAL turbo which hits the total at $2,400 all by itself. So yeah, I'll have some work to do next year.

Quoting Steve001:

It can be pretty loud, but it all depends on your driving, for instance if you dont wind it up and short shift its not that loud. there's still other things out there that are very much louder like Harley's, Stupid Honduuhh's, Bikes, and of course the occasional V8. I drive this car to work between 2 jobs everyday and No i have not been pulled over yet.

I agree that this is not the best idea for a cross country road trip, but I'm sure it's not as loud as most would think at idle and light throttle.
I drove on an open o2 housing for a couple weeks one time while waiting on parts and it wasn't loud at all unless I wanted it to be.

That said, driving a few miles to and from work is one thing... driving across many different states and counties is another. The droning of the exhaust on the highway would drive me crazy, lol.
Hopefully the cops aren't too strict anywhere from TX to OH.

Well I love the way it sounds, it drives me crazy in a good way. Plus having it this loud with no cruise control, or a/c really helps to keep you awake for long distance 22+ hour road trips. The more quieter and smooth things are, the more chance your going to doze off. I just really can't wait to get it tuned though, that way I can start playing with it and see what she can do.
