What should I do with this block?

I have the bare block I just took out of my car and don't know what to do with it. Its bored .040 over and probably needs re honed. I know .040 is pretty much the block's limit so I have doubts that anyone would want it. Salvage yard?

Take it to a metal recycling yard. They will at least give you some money for it.

Maybe keep it around for a mock up in the future. I tossed a few that were bad years ago thinking I'd never need them and now I'm doing an AWD swap on my Colt and a bare block comes in handy when fabbing up mounts. Ended up buying a rusty na block for $25 a few weeks ago because it was local.

Rusty N/A block might actually still be ok, Its simply seasoned I bet it could be machined to work well.

I just bought it for mock up, I didn't get the main caps with it anyway.

It looks like the glass is sandwiched between the head and the block? I think it's centered, but looks weird due to that.

As for the block... 0.040 over isn't really the usable limit... G4CS can be boosted and make lots of power and it's a 0.060" overbore to begin with, 0.080" once it's been machined. I'd say it's definitely serviceable if there's nothing else wrong with it. On the other hand, 4g blocks are a dime a dozen so don't think you're gonna ship it to a paying customer. If somebody local doesn't want it just take it to the metal recyclers and put a Jackson in your pocket.

Same here. I would use a 4G63 but then I figured I would need jackstands to hold up the table after the motor gave out.
