How to check if the waste gate is operating properly or not? Its a stock 14b waste gate. Would getting very high boost be a symptom that the waste gate is not working? Setup is totally stock, no mbc either. My waste gate is currently out of the car and would like to know how to make sure whether its okay or bad.
Thanks!

By 'wastegate is currently out of the car', you are referring to the wastegate actuator correct? It is possible that the diaphragm in the actuator is torn. I'm sure you can find a stock 14b actuator for cheap, so you might as well just replace it.

Yes im referring to the actuator. I just wanted to know how to test it. My car is stock, and i am getting 1.5 bar boost! If i remove the pipes it goes to 2 bar boost. So i am guessing that the actuator is working on 1.5 bar boost. At that boost the ecu probably retires the timing and the car stutters and bogs down. Notice that it is not boost creep nor boost spike, it is constant 1.5 bar boost. Therefore i wanted to know how to test the actuator while out of the car, because if it is broken then that is my problem, if not then i need to figure what else is causing it. I took it out because my best guess is its not working, but i just need to confirm it.

To test it, get a vacuum pump and an accurate gauge. The stock actuator should open at 11psi. Here's a video of how you should do it click
