Just installed the transmission and t-case monday(may 4th) night, finished it last night(tuesday may 5th). Went to start it, and it is stuck it 1st/2nd gear. there is no "selection" in 1st/2nd, goes into 3rd,4th,5th, and R BUT it doesnt move in those gears because its stuck in 1st/2nd gear. The auction said it is supposedly good. I have tried putting it into gear with the cables off (on the tranny)and when i put down in the and slide it forward and back it is complete slop.

IM not too familiar with the insides of these transmissions sounds like a shift fork problem or on the rail or something?
what do you guys think.

Exactly.

You have a busted 1/2 fork or rail.

You can find out which it is by pulling the detent ball retainer on the 1/2 rail and hold the spring/ball with your finger while operating the linkage. If it doesn't move, it's the rail. If it does move, it's a fork.

It's a pretty easy fix, either way. You just need the part and some time.
