I think I might have asked about this, but here is another try with more info. Basically this is what I want, and what I've found.

I have a 92 laser tranny that I want to replace the syncros in. Every syncro is fabric lined. I didn't think I'd find these in a '92 trans, but oh well. So basically I was hoping people could help me with the differences between the syncros. Like, which ones are fabric, full brass, big/small 3rd/4th etc. Stuff like that. So here is the info I got digging through CAPS and using an online dealer look up to get ballpark prices.

I think this might get FUBAR but I'll try it anyways. I'm gonna post up the whole spreadsheet once I get my hosting working. I have about 90% of the parts in there. So people can help me to complete it if they wish. I'm not 100% sure if what I have is correct, so point it out if I'm wrong.

You think that's a factory part?

I knew I worded that badly. I was asking if it was a factory part, because I didn't know. I just assumed that TRE/Shep were doing a custom job on those parts.

This is great info. Are you planning on just replacing the synchros, or rebuilding the whole tranny?

Well, basically I got a tranny that needed a new bellhousing. Turned out the bearings were kinda iffy, so I decided to replace them. In the process of removing the bearings I realized the syncros were fabric lined. Everything else is perfect. So I figured I'd just put in new bearings and syncros and it should be great.

I have a spreadsheet that has this info plus just about every other part in the tranmission. I still haven't added the stuff for 5th gear because I didn't care about that stuff.
The spreadsheet so far has:
Seals,Gears,Shafts,Syncros,Hubs,Sliders,Keys,Springs,Bearings,Forks,Rails,Cases, and other odds n' ends. Like case breathers, and oil guides. I'm gonna post up the file itself, but charter is being stupid. Maybe if someone else wants to host it I can send it to them. I'm hoping it can get worked on some more so it can become a really powerful tranny rebuild reference.

I've 'heard' that the double cone third and fourth require machining on the shafts or gears to make fit. Are you sure they're out of an Evo3? That would be nice to know.

You just can't slip the double syncro 3+4th in. When I bought mine from Jon and TRE I took it apart and there are four holes machined out of the gear so the center of the syncro can be locked to the gear and the two syncros on the outside and the inside of the center piece can wear into that. They will not just bolt in or slip in because the stock third and forth gears do not have the holes machined in them. Just a little FYI. Plus the 3+4 gear set you buy from him are close ratio. Second is machined the same way. I will try to find some pics.

The top left of the pic has the gear with the four holes machines out of it. Sorry for the small pic its all I could find.

If you get the double 3rd and 4th gear and syncro from the evo3 you can then just put then in your tranny. Atleast you can in a 91 tranny.

Okey, so Hertz was awesome and has the file hosted.

It is super beta version, but you guys should dig it.

Tranmission spreadsheet

Give me input so I can update it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Looks good so far.
Would be nice if we could get the part numbers for the shift rails and 3/4 double syncros and gears from the evo3 tranny.
