Can you remove the connection to the ps pump that comes up from the harness that has the two connections for the alternator, without something coming out? It would be easier to get the alternator out if it was disconnected.
To answer your question, yes. To add to Hertz's suggestion, I generally take my radiator out when I do my alternator for the sole purpose of flushing the cooling system, killing two birds with one stone. Would you happen to be due for a coolant flush?
Thanks again guys. I am due for coolant change and was going to do it after this fix. I put a new gasket on between oil filter housing and coolant circulator. I am trying to stop a few small oil and coolant leaks before I replace coolant. I am also discovering my belts need replacing.
