Manually Checking CEL Code?

How can one manually check for a Check engine light code on an RVR ecu? (OBD II, same as evo III) I need to know which wire to connect to so i can count the number of times led blinks through which i can find which code is the ecu throwing. Thanks!

I meant that Mitsubishi rvr which had a 4g63t and ecu wiring/pin outs same as an evo III
