Is it bad to run without the intake resonator and snorkel?

So I recently removed the intake resonator together with the snorkel tube to get that more sportier sound. I love how it growls when in WOT, but I don't have that peace of mind thinking running without those can damage my engine.

I'm well aware that the filter will get more dirt and will need more frequent replacement, although it's not much of an issue as long as it ain't damaging my engine.

It could see a bit more dirt, but its really common for the resonator and snorkel to be removed, since they do restrict a bit. I assume you just mean the snorkel that leads to the filter "box." If so, I wouldn't worry too much about that as long as you keep up on your filter maintenance.

When I got my car the whole top half of the filter cover had been removed and a duct in the hood brought air right onto it (along with debris, rain, etc.), I used a good filter and kept it up, never found any major ill-effects from it.
