how far from the throttle body should the bung be for the ECMLink speed density be? should I weld it on the manifold /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Just put it somewhere in the upper intercooler pipe. Either with a welded on bung, or drill and tap a hole. Just make sure it seals.
