Galant Vr-4 Domination

I know you guys probably feel negative about street racing, but I thought I would share with the forum, since these cars are barely out let alone fast. This is my friends pump gas galant Vr4 I threw a quick little video together for him from today. Car ended up getting stuck in 3rd gear on the last race, we think something broke inside the trans, but still not bad for pump gas!

Not too sure how much power its making, he literally got the car back together a few weeks ago after its been down for a year. Its got a built motor, fp3065, exhaust, link, injectors, etc. The mustangs he was running in the video have gone 10s at the track, the red one I know has been 10.60s on motor and in the 9s on a BIG shot.

All he has done to the suspension is AGXs and stock springs.

I drive my white car on the street. I have not had a street race in it sense 2004 though, back when it was running mid 11s.

The scene around here has kind of died off too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif it sucks, we have just a decent sized group of friends with all sorts of different fast cars, really those are the only ones worth racing anymore. All the fox body mustangs in that video have gone tens in the past.

I street raced twice per week for 10 years. Lots of fun. Out ran the cops many times, got busted a few times. I quit when I had kids but I'd be a hypocrite if I judged anyone else for doing it. Looking back, it was stupid but given the chance (my youth) and circumstances I'd do it all over again. Too old now. AWD cars belong on the street. We lose our main advantage at the track.

this the "carver tuned" galant? I've seen it out at a couple of local meets. I'm usually around too, but with the "slow" vr4 so it's not worth me racing anyone lol

I agree with all of this, usually we try to stay calm when the cops come, its not worth getting into an accident out running away from them. The day I filmed this video the cops rolled up on us and talked to one of the guys about the mustang. Said they got a complaint so they have to respond, they were like could you guys leave for 20mins or so it looks like we did our job lol, I think in our area when they see its not a bunch of idiots in hondas they are more lenient to it.

I don't have many up on here (sorry phil!) but one day will post up some. Do you come out to the local meets yourself? I plan on hitting up the Rowan meet this Wednesday and the Wok meet Thursday. I've got a green 92 with a black CF hood. Let me know if you are gonna go!

umm I do go to a few local meets, I have several cars that if you seen them they were probably mine. I have a Black 1994 3000GT VR-4 on E85, white 1991 Eagle Talon on 4 hoosiers and side exhaust, A white 1991 Galant VR-4, A red 1993 3000GT Vr-4 on gold rota grids. I also sometimes drive my wifes yellow evo 8.
