what is the regular price on this? I ask because we buy my son these a lot and never really paid attention to how much $50 buys you (new) and wonder if this would be a good way to go (although we just bought him some more recently; I'll have to find out how much time or units or whatever they go by remain).

They regularly go for $60. Its all measured in months, I believe the have 3 month 6 month and 12 months passes.

Yup. Going rate for a year of Gold is 59.99. Sometimes you can find them on sale at Best Buy etc. or online.
