Simply drill and tap on the shift lever closer to the pivot point.
I moved inwards by about 33% or so, resulting in 33% shorter throw back-and-forth in the cabin.
I used "8mm X 1.25" which matches perfectly with the diameter of the stock pin.
You will also need to make the rubber-stopper thicker in the shifter base. Otherwise, you run the risk of breaking your shift fork when you shifting hard.
I have run with this mod for almost 2 years, and no issue.
