FREE mod: short-throw shifter

Simply drill and tap on the shift lever closer to the pivot point.
I moved inwards by about 33% or so, resulting in 33% shorter throw back-and-forth in the cabin.

I used "8mm X 1.25" which matches perfectly with the diameter of the stock pin.

You will also need to make the rubber-stopper thicker in the shifter base. Otherwise, you run the risk of breaking your shift fork when you shifting hard.

I have run with this mod for almost 2 years, and no issue.

Thats pretty cool man! Can you get a pick of the thicker rubber stopper you put in the shift base also.?

For the bump stopper on the shifter base, simply cut a small section of a hose and zip tie around the stock stopper to make it thicker.

In addition, to install a leather shift boot, you can reuse the bottom portion of your old accordion-style rubber boot.

How far down the shift lever do you drill the hole. like a 1/2 inch or somthing

I drilled it all the way through, and also tap it all the way through the lever.

Then I use a bolt, a washer, and a nylon lock-nut at the bottom..
I will try to take a picture of this.

The bolt does not clamp down on the shifter bushings.
The lock-nut at the bottom of the lever kinda acts like a jam nut.
