I’ve always liked the look of the JDM vr4 headlights but after having JDM Civic type R headlights on my old hatch, I didn’t a repeat of constantly blinding oncoming traffic.
So I finally found a set of EDM headlights in great shape. I also have a set of JDM headlights so I figured I would post some pics of the differences in the reflectors and lenses.
These pics are from the right hand, headlight of both sets. The JDM light has a city light at the bottom of the low beam, the EDM light does not.
My plan is to take both steps apart, clean and restore them, and reassemble an EDM set with the JDM city light inside and the correct lenses for left-hand drive traffic. Basically the best of both worlds.
I’ve had a clean set of 93 clear headlights on the car for years, it’s time for a little bit of a change. Anyway, onto the pics for reference of the differences.
