Okay so i found a red top NA 4g63 at a local junk yard and i was interested in it, i already have a 4g63t but right now i want a 4g63. The problem is that the ecu number was md126340. I searched on the net and it came out to be of a Mitsubishi Pajero ( called montero in the US i think ) So does any one have a chart of ecu numbers for a Non-turbo 4g63?
Thanks!

Talon/Eclipse/Laser non turbo ecu's

MD128624 6/89 to 6/90, Federal emissions

MD128622 6/89 to 6/90, California emissions

MD166255 6/90 to 5/93, Federal emissions

MD166256 6/90 to 5/94, California emissions (many were e-proms)

MD304481 6/93 to 5/94, Federal emissions, (most were e-proms)

Galant GSX ecu's (AWD, equiped with the 4g63)

MD153303 6/89 to 5/90 Federal emissions

MD153304 6/89 to 5/90 California emissions

MD166250 6/90 to 5/91 Federal emissions

MD166251 6/90 to 5/91 California emissions

MD172577 6/91 to 6/92 Federal emissions

MD172578 6/91 to 6/92 California emissions

There is also some gsr's and a few 93 galant models that came 4g63, but I don't have their numbers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It's interesting to note that the non turbo automatic and manual transmission cars used the same ecu's, and the determining difference was the emission add-ons/programing required to meet California emissions

The turbo cars had the same emissions level differences, a fwd and awd platform choice, and the additional complication of different fuel injector sizing/fuel pressure between the auto and manual models.

(This means turbo car ecu's are not as interchangable.)

Good luck, and happy hunting! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

edit Be sure to check the board for leaking caps/damage before buying!!!
