Does anyone know what core FPR was used? I need a rebuild kit. I thought it was Aeromotive, but I bought the wrong kit.

Wonder if Buschur would share that with you if you asked them directly. You'd think they would to help you find the right rebuild kit.

Never heard back. I'll try and call tomorrow. It does look like a Aeromotive FPR, but I just got the wrong kit. I can clearly tell that fuel made it past the diaphragm and the spring smells of fuel. Fuel clearly made it past the diaphragm and the top side shows signs of fuel corrosion.

I've reached out to both Aeromtoive and Bushur, so far, no dice. If anyone knows the core FPR, please let me know. Fuel has made it past the diaphragm gasket and the spring has a fuel smell on it. My fuel was not raising 1:1, but I can't find any boost or vacuum leaks. Pretty sure the FPR is the issue.

Did Buschur not know or just not get back to you?

I heard back this morning. They said SX was the brand, and parts are no longer available. I thought SX was the model number of an unknown brand. I can't find any information on SX FPRs, other than the kit they used to sell. So, I'm not sure they actually know for sure. Not sure when they stopped selling the kit. I'm sure it's a core unit of something that has a rebuild kit (I hope), just don't know what it is.

Found a bunch of threads on DSMtuners about them in a Google search. Looks like Edelbrock bought out SX at some point based on this thread. Maybe give their tech support a call and see what they can do, if anything.

I was going to check the fuel pump next, but I have a FPR failure for sure. Fuel is not supposed to make it past the diaphragm, and the spring and cap have fuel on them. I was going to attempt to get it repaired, but in the end, I suspect I will have to get a new unit just because of age. I was getting a delay in fuel delivery. I could tell it was getting rich too late, and not in real time 1:1 under boost. Oddly, I never got knock. Granted once I realized things weren't working right, I was only attempting 7,11psi and let off the throttle right away when it wasn't pulling right.

Thank you for your post. I'm going to have to call. I attempted to use email support, but Edelbrock support seems to be for engines only. Some of the rebuilt kits look right, but not the spring and cap. I suspect I will just have to get an external firewall unit. While the bolt on was very convenient, it also gets in the way of simple things like changing spark plug wires. Upgrading won't be the end of the world. Just annoying cause I maxed out at 20,22psi, so I had a tune that just worked, when it worked.

I did end up having to call support, and the person on the phone didn't know anything about Edelbrock buying SX performance, but it likely happened so long ago, that they might not even have records.

This diagram does look correct. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-178010

The top part of the current AFPR they sell looks exactly the same.https://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/174041/10002/-1

I'm not sure if it's worth the risk on that rebuild kit, or if I have to just get a new external AFPR. The spring and cap had fuel on them, and I don't know if the spring could be out of spec.

Guess it depends on the cost difference. Would suck to have to go out and eat the cost of the rebuild kit. Maybe they'd accept a return on it if it didn't fit, but if they didn't, I'd just get a new one.

Update, the https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-178010 was correct, in case anyone else is running the same setup.

I'm still running lean under boost, and I was going to replace the fuel filter today, but what I got from rock auto, didn't look right. So, as of now, it's fuel filter, then look at fuel pump, but the issue came on instantly, so I'm hoping it's a single issue, and not a series of minor issues compounding upon each other. The AFPR did have fuel where it didn't belong, so it was an issue, even if it was a minor one, and not the source cause of lean under boost issue. I'm glad I got it rebuilt.

Good work finding parts that fit. Lots of times thought pictures are fairly generic.
