What was the deal with these? Coveted? High lift?

They are probably the same as the cams in the 150hp N/A AWD European 1g eclipse. I thought there was a small run of Lasers in the US that had that motor too?

they were hollow and high lift/high duration, which is why combined with the 10.4:1 pistons the engine made 175hp from an N/A 2L. Redline for the 5sp was 7500rpm.

I Dont remember ever seeing any us model 1g, 2g, gvr4 turbo or non turbo cams being hollow. 420a dont count

USDM Evo 8 and later cams are hollow.
