Either are compatible Paul.
Personally I'd go for the later type the INP-059 moulded ones, or if you can find a good set of the later still INP-064 ones.
Either set will work, they should just be all the same. Can the mechanic in the UK give you the number on the side of the connector top on the injectors that are on the car?
You won't find the GTI listed on any US dropdowns, but any US N/A 4G63 twin cam will have come with 240s from the factory
