  1. Very rich idle

It was kinda weird, with the car in diagnostic mode or whatever (pin 10 grounded), we threaded the BISS fully closed (like 3 turns) and it fixed the surge and idled steady at 1400rpm. After shutting the car off and starting it again it idled super low and we ended up backing the BISS out a turn...
  2. Very rich idle

Ok, so without the ability to datalog the ISC yet, all I can do is set the base idle to 750 +-50 with the #10 pin on the daig port grounded.
  3. Very rich idle

The BISS wasn't changed since the motor was rebuilt. I will check it for him tomorrow. Does the ISC have to be "zeroed" or something as well?Idle AFR is fine like you said. It just goes into decel or fuel cutoff (or whatever its called in the DSM tune) until the idle speed drops.
  4. Very rich idle

Actually the issue we're trying to track down here is the idle surge (what I'd call a surge anyway, I'm wondering if it isn't what the rest of the DSM community refers to as a hunting idle). To me it seems like the ISC is functioning as it should. It has been pulled apart and cleaned at one...
  5. FS:Parts(UPDATE!!)

Is the Abs delete still available? PM me if it is, so the site will shoot me an email.
  6. Help with my rear hub?

well it turns out that the 710152 number isn't right. It shows up on rockauto.com as the right part number when looked up by application, and gives dimensions for the seal. It can be looked up through O'reilly's computer and comes up right, The National seal book also lists it for this...
  7. Help with my rear hub?

That's a good write up! I will probably steal your makeshift bearing press idea.I ended up ordering the two outer dust covers from the dealership. Looks like my cars down til Friday at the soonest.
  8. Help with my rear hub?

I'm trying to dig up part numbers and the local parts store isn't much help. I called the dealership and got some Mitsubishi part numbers I'm trying to work with but not getting too far, I'll keep looking, but in the hour I'm searching, I'm sure someone on here knows exactly where to find them...
  9. FS: Parting out 430/1000 Chicagoland area

I meant right side stuff. Don't know what I was thinking...
  10. FS: Parting out 430/1000 Chicagoland area

I just hit a deer last night. I need both fenders, hood, left headlight and corner, and a grill. I am in northern WI, close to the twin cities if you're planning a trip in the near future, otherwise I will take as many of those parts as you are willing to ship. If the fenders are good, it will...
  11. 2 turbos in a month????

Quoting turbowop: You owe me a beer for saving you from a turbo purchase. That's for sure!I drove it in to work today and after smoking when taking off at a couple stop signs, she cleared up and is running pretty good now. Still a couple of things to check out, but I think the turbo is...
  12. 2 turbos in a month????

Well my catch can is a block of ice. It's currently thawing. Running the car with the PCV hoses disconnected has slowed the leaking considerably, and what is coming out might just be what was left over.I'll put the PCV system back to stock and see of it clears up completely.
  13. 2 turbos in a month????

The dipstick didn't pop out that I recall.I'm feeding oil from the factory (I think) location on the front passenger side of the head.I'll do a compression test while I'm in there this weekend. Seeing the price of used 14b's, I'm not too opposed to pulling the turbo (at least its still fresh...
  14. 2 turbos in a month????

Quoting turbowop: I was amazed when mine did it. I had oil coming out of the flex section of the downpipe. It all started when the temps got really cold a couple winters ago. I ended up putting the crankcase ventilation system back to stock, since I use the car as a daily and for ski trips in...
  15. 2 turbos in a month????

I do run a catch can. But I'd be amazed if that could cause the sheer volume of oil that's coming out. I will check the lines and see how full the catch can is...As to how modded it is, it's got a walbro 255, an aeromotive FPR, lower shores mbc, 2g O2 housing and full 3" exhaust.
  16. 2 turbos in a month????

Decent price, but still, ouch. I think I'll try the used turbo first in case I haven't solved whatever's causing them to fail.
  17. 2 turbos in a month????

So at this point, my plan of attack is to pick up a used 14b from the classifieds.Tomorrow I'll get a fitting so I can put an oil pressure gauge right on the oil feed and look for a delay on cold starts.I'm gonna assume that the seals failed because of the insane amount of boost I was...
  18. 2 turbos in a month????

Would you condone buying a used turbo?
  19. 2 turbos in a month????

Oil drain is clear (outside the pan at least). I pulled the cover and got one of those 3 bolts to tighten further (
  20. 2 turbos in a month????

Well It is the turbo. Oil is dripping steadily from the flange on the downpipe where there's a slight ledge where it can puddle. So other than it being a cheap turbo, what would cause them to fail?I will check the plate under the valve cover, thanks. Also, who's the best source for a new...
  21. 2 turbos in a month????

This is a case of somebody looking at post counts and saying "wow what a noob" and while I admit I know next to nothing about turbos (this is my first real experience with them) I'm not an idiot. No, I couldnt quite recall which particular line was oil and which were coolant, but thinking about...
  22. 2 turbos in a month????

I bought my GVR4 about 2 months ago, fixed a few things and started DDing it for about 300 mi a week. Then about a month later, I replaced the downpipe with a 3" evo pipe, and before I got hangers fabbed up, I had it temporarily wired up, and it fell down once. I pulled to the side of the road...
