  2. FS: Ten years worth of mods in one page (stroker, gt30r, TRE tranny) - SOLD

Quoting strokin4dr: This car won't last long at that price. Seems like an $8000 car to me.You're right! Only 24 hours, and we have a sale pending (deposit in hand) New owner will pick up next weekend.I am so happy to see that the car will go into a good home with two other Galant VR4s!
  3. FS: Ten years worth of mods in one page (stroker, gt30r, TRE tranny) - SOLD

About the turbo spool question, I just went ahead and got some concrete data. With the taller 5th gear from TRE, 75mph on 5th gear is about 3200rpm. There is zero lag if you floor the car at 75mph/3200rpm.Then, I slowed down to 2000rpm, which is 46mph on a freeway. If I floor it at 2000...

1991 Galant VR4 FOR SALE (serial# 201 out of 2000)Hi guys, I have owned this car for 10+ years, since 2002 to be exact. I thought I would never sell this car. However, with wife and kid, I simply haven't had that much opportunity to enjoy and tinker with the car anymore. This car has...
  7. Posessed Door Lock

Sorry about bumping up an old thread. I want to also confirm that I was able to fix this strange locking issue by removing the front-driver door trim (interior door panel) and spraying generous amount of lubricant on the door latch, door handle and door locking mechanism.I think what was...

  9. FS: 1993 headlight - SOLD

    Price lowered. Thanks.
  10. FS: 1993 headlight - SOLD

Hi: I have a really nice condition 93 headlight. This set probably has the least amount of chrome pitting I have ever seen. The brackets are also pretty much rust free. However, the passenger side headlight has one spot where the glass seems to be chipped on the INSIDE. From outside it is...

  14. FS: EVO GSR suspension, modified for GVR4 - SOLD

Sold to a local member. Thanks for the space :-)CutlassJim: You're right, the EVO setup rides better, but IMO, hotbits handles better due to stiffer springs. I did change my hotbits front springs from 8f/5r to 6f/5r to improve ride.
  15. FS: EVO GSR suspension, modified for GVR4 - SOLD

  20. FS: Old school RRE Griffin 18x6x2.75 intercooler w/ spearco endtanks - SOLD

PMs replied. Wish I had two of these so everybody who wants one could get one. Oh well.
  21. FS: EVO GSR suspension, modified for GVR4 - SOLD

By the way, most people cut the one coil from the front springs to make the front/back wheel gaps more even. If you were to cut the front springs, it would be advisable to cut the bottom coil, because the bottom strut perch has a notch that can keep the cut ends well seated. The one I am...
  22. WTB: Idle switch (bought one!)

This is the switch with one pin, installed on the back side of the throttle body. It goes to ground (0V) when the throttle is released. Must be in working condition, and not rusted, of course... The lower the mileage the better...Thanks guys!
  23. Top to Bottom FMIC

    Here is my old setup:click
  24. FS: Old school RRE Griffin 18x6x2.75 intercooler w/ spearco endtanks - SOLD

On a mustang dyno where stock EVOs dyno about 210awhp, my car dynoed 300awhp on 91 octane at 21psi (with this intercooler setup). This was with my old turbo setup. (not gt30r in my sig)Here are some pictures when I had it installed. Please note that the piping is not included.
  25. FS: EVO GSR suspension, modified for GVR4 - SOLD

Hi: I took off my EVO suspension setup about 3-4 years ago when I got my Hotbits coilover, and this has since been sitting in my garage. The shocks have probably about 30K miles on it.This setup comes with (almost) everything you need to install. Included are the proper evo top mount and...
  26. FS: Old school RRE Griffin 18x6x2.75 intercooler w/ spearco endtanks - SOLD

This griffin core is from an old school intercooler kit by road race engineering. It is a top-bottom flow griffin core with spearco cast endtanks that have 2.5 inlet/outlet. Bottom bracket to mount on the car is included. (and shown in the picture) The fins are in relatively good shape.I...

  30. Glove box lock cylinder won't turn

LuckyLager: I had the same issue with my glovebox. It turns out that my original key ( not valet key ) was somehow "worn out". I went and have a new key recut ( strangely using this same "worn out" key as the template ). The newly recut key was able to unlock the glovebox. Maybe this would work...
  31. Muffler to quiet down, but still high flowing

I definitely agree with you Cy. I had a 2.5" exhaust before I move "up" to the 3" exhaust from certified. The 2.5" exhaust is much quieter even though I used less resonators on the 2.5.
  32. Muffler to quiet down, but still high flowing

I have 3" certified muffler, which comes with dual tips thermal R&D muffler.I added two resonators, 24" and 12", which are of straight-through perforated-type from RRE. I also use a 3" catalytic converter. So, basically 1 muffler, 3 feet worth of resonators, and a cat. You can bet it is quiet.
  33. FS: Floormats! Come get your floormats!

Payment sent also.. turboflanagan, I hope you're still selling these, right ?
  34. HKS CAMS 264i/272e SET UP WITH CAM GEARS

Quote: Later when I had the timing light I checked the timing (it was done the right way too) and there we actually 3 of us DSMers (so we call our selfs ) when this happened and we all were shocked at the result of around 20* base timing . So we quickly tried to retard the timing but the mark...
  35. HKS CAMS 264i/272e SET UP WITH CAM GEARS

Advance the intake gear for more low end, and better spool. Retard the intake gear for shift the power band to the higher end, and possibly decreases spool ( depending on what turbo you have )I have played with both, and I do like the slightly retarded intake gear setting ( -2i/0e )
  36. electronic boost controllers your oponion

Quoting vr4play: Just stay away from the Profec B spec II. Biggest waste of money I ever spent. Why ? I have profect B spec II. It works great for me. It controls boost consistently with adjustable ramps up, and is very easy to setup.
  37. Where to get t-body rebuilt?

+1 for steve's work at www.throttlebodys.com I went with the 63mm overbore also.
  38. Possibly another solution for driveline decel noise

Even if your driveshaft angles are all the same already, I personally would still try either lowering the rear or front carrier bearing. I would suggest trying both, but not at the same time. I am no longer certain if the proper adjustment is to make all the angles equal.
  39. Innovative LC1 feature

I have a Zeitronix wideband installed in my Galant, and I do use the simulated-narrowband feature extensively. I have it wired to a switch, which picks a relay that chooses between the stock narrow-band O2 sensor output or the zt2 narrrowband-simulation output. This gives me the ability to...
  40. Cleaning up my galant and installing a new trans and clutch

Quoting B00000ST:Is it really safe to spray paint the turbo without taping/plugging the oil feed and oil drain holes ? I'd be worried about some fine mist of paint making its way into the bearing area.
  41. just wanting to use a 2g cylinder head...

Quoting ctm:as to using the 2g T-stat housing, comments from slugsgomoo and grocery_getter (offline) imply that I'll have to. QUESTIONS: i recall the 2g unit has coolant/radiator cap on it... will this part be discarded when one swaps all the sensors from the gvr4 T-stat housing? You can...
  42. Possibly another solution for driveline decel noise

FYI, I have also experimented with more shims for my rear carrier bearing.5mm shims is the right amount for me. Thicker than this, I get driveline noise at steady-state cruising speed. Less than this, I get the famous wub-wub decel noise. There really is a good reason why the manual clearly...
  43. Possibly another solution for driveline decel noise

Terry: I would use a regular round washers, before I use one of those.. The harbor freight shims might be easier to install, but they just don't seem to be that secure, since the opening is not a full circle.
  44. Possibly another solution for driveline decel noise

Congratz bazeng! I am glad that it worked for you as well.Somewhat interesting that you added shims to front bearing, and I did the rear bearing. I am not entirely sure anymore that the goal is to make the driveshaft sections the same angle. ( since Cy did that but did not help ). Or, if...
  45. Possibly another solution for driveline decel noise

Hi Cy: Just to satisfy my curiosity, would you mind removing the shims from your front carrier bearing, and moving the shims to the rear carrier bearing instead. For comparison, I shimmed my rear carrier bearing by 5mm.Since making the angle equal did not help for you, I am thinking maybe...
  46. Possibly another solution for driveline decel noise

Apparently, everyone is waiting for you to try it Good luck Cy. Don't forget to paypal me for sharing the idea if this works for you also.. hehe..Quoting CP: Anyone else done this yet and seen good results? I'm going to tackle it this afternoon. I just finished replacing a bad wideband...
  47. Rear Subframe poly Bushings **comming to a end**

Quoting Boostx:The price has since been reduced to $164 for all four ship , which is good for those that have not purchased any as yet but bad for those who already have.I will take a set as well. All four means the mustache bushings plus the rear subframe bushings, right ?
