+1 on the jdm hood. I would be game for it. Following.
  4. COP Issues

I don't believe testing a coil with an ohm meter will give you the results that you are looking for. The coil winding's are far to small and spaced to closely together for your ohm meter to push a voltage through. If you had access to an megger to actually push a variable voltage through the...

Id take that door off you in a heart beat, if only you were closer

  7. FS: Garage sale

I for one will gladly pay a retail price for an item that is in known good condition from a reputable member of our community. G of course you should be rewarded for your efforts, I for one do not work for free and I don't expect you to either. On that note, I lost out on that turbo timer. Do...

Just completed my first purchase from Juan and let me tell you, it wont be the last! Juan is an exemplary member of our community, a staple if you will! 9. Common cause of inner timing belt wear [Resolved]

I do seem to remember seeing a few threads about this issue and it came down to the tensioner either being installed backward or the tension being off... just a thought, pictures of your particular belt would help though.
  10. Age of you VR-4 Owners?

Well that was an interesting read I'm 25, bought my first vr4 when I was 22ish. I've been told I look like a young Tom Cruise. I even met him once. He bought me a appletini, and we discussed how good looking we are. I cut a lock of his hair off while he wasn't looking and it now resides on my...
  11. Exhaust discussion.

I've never been a huge fan of magnaflow mufflers for this very reason. I've experienced them on many occasions with different 3in setups on various cars. Most of them just seem to have that drone...I'm a big fan of borla personally, I just put a custom full 3in exhaust on #221 capped off with a...

  14. Where should i buy axles?

I've always had luck with empi axles although for my mitsu i only used the bearing and cage assembly. I removed the bearing/cage assembly and used the mitsu shaft with a synthetic grease blend. I've got around 3k miles on them so far with no noise! I haven't really started to make any snort with...
  15. On the value of heat shielding.

Just finished installing my fp manifold mated to a big 16g yesterday, and damn that thing puts out some heat! I did a little research on ceramic coating the manifold, but apparently fp advises against it due to weaking the manifold material, although the two ceramic coaters I talked to disagreed...

  19. #221 saved from the tweekers and back in buisness!

Thanks for the kind words guys! I do agree that it has come along way since the day I bought it but I've go a LONG road ahead of me to bring this car back to its original glory! I would have hated to see 221 get parted out! I believe potential is in the eye of the beholder. I did end up getting...
  20. FS: real short shifters

If your on the fence about buying a short shifter from Evan, get off the damn fence and buy one. I got lucky and worked out a trade with him but if I had to I would totally pay the asking price for one of these! Its a very nice quality piece and only requires minimal adjustment to the shifter...

  25. #221 saved from the tweekers and back in buisness!

Coyotes: Ah i see! very nice! unfortunately It seems like a lot of the Vr4's have the problem with the clear coat fading! I had a white 91' but the paint was in excellent shape! Looks like you have quite the build going on up there! I'm kind of a hardware nazi...i like every thing to be as close...
  26. #221 saved from the tweekers and back in buisness!

Thanks! The only rust I've found so far is the hood obviously and a tiny bit on the edge of the drivers door where it meets the front fender. I'm gonna yard out the inner fender wells this weekend and clean/check for rust. I was surprised to find the 4WS system intact and free from rust as well!
  27. #221 saved from the tweekers and back in buisness!

It's quite possible. I believe I remember seeing your car on Craig's list a while back! Flat black correct? Yeah the car definitely needs some serious attention but I'm quite capable and willing to give it the love it needs. After a day of mechanical attention it runs and drives great! I've...
  28. #221 saved from the tweekers and back in buisness!

Hello all! Long time forum stalker, first time forum poster! I just saved #221 from a couple of tweekers about 5 days ago. I've since been pulled over three times, twice by the same cop! So much for the vr4 being a non attention grabbing grocery getter! #221 as it sits is pretty much stock with...
