  1. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Looks like i should have searched firsthttp://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/dsmlinktpsadjustment"The ECU wants to see 0.63v from the TPS sensor when your foot is off the throttle and greater than, say, 4.6v when you're fully on it. You can datalog TPSvolts to see what the ECU is really getting...
  2. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

If i were to pin out the TPS at the ECU what voltages should i see when at closed throttle and open throttle. I am guessing closed throttle should be close to 0v and open should be around 5v?
  3. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

ISC can't be set? It can be tested. Or am i not understanding something.I did set my TPS, BISS, and base timing via the methods listed on VFAQ.COMI am planning to visually confirm my ISC is cycling like DSMISC shows
  4. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

I changed the ISC with another one with the same results. I also pinned both out as described on VFAQ and they were both good.Unfortunately the logger cable i made was a COM style and my new laptop doesn't have that so i am waiting for mine to ship dsmcables.comBut I have since: replaced...
  5. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

replaced the injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel tank....still the same sh*t. i hate dsms
  6. OEM fuel line sizes

Thanks. Any idea what the fitting sizes are?
  7. OEM fuel line sizes

Does anyone know the OE feed and return fuel line sizes?
  8. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

So today i dropped my fuel tank to find its full of rust. My injectors and fuel filter were clogged again (i put about 50 miles on it since i changed them. Going to take it to a local fuel tank repair place and replace the lines
  9. 384's new rims

Yeah i think you are right. Its only rubbing on the fender with minor body damage. I think i am going to roll the lips anyways because the car will be re painted shortly and if i want to go bigger i wont have to worry about having to roll the lip with new paint.
  10. 384's new rims

Got these with the car but had them powder coated.Turns out 235s rub a little. Flaring fenders shortly
  11. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Had some time to mess with the car again today. Fuel pressure turned out good (maybe a little high). I unplugged the o2 sensor and the seemed to run better. This made me think one of the fuel injectors might be messed up. I pulled plugs one at a time and found one that didnt seem to make a...
  12. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Anyone have more insight on the coolant temp problem i am observing?
  13. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Finally got time to work on this again. Turns out I am dyslectic and pined my cord backwords. TMO and TunerPro RT work with the cord. Here are the things that stuck out:At idle (and everywhere) the 02 sensor read 0.02v (lean as hell) but i think it might not be functioning correctly...
  14. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Maybe this problem was a gift. I just stumbled across tunerpro , there is no way this can be as good as it clams. If so i am selling my AEM that is collecting dust.
  15. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Yeah, this is really hard without a logger. If I could see fuel trims/tps/MAF signals it would make life so much easier. After posting this i pulled my TPS off and check the ohms closed and opened.Closed Pin 1 to 4: 4.7k ohms Pin 2 to 4: 0.9k ohmsOpen Pin 2 to 4: 4.8k ohmsThe open...
  16. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Built the logger cable and it wont connect using the TMO logger via my laptop/com port. Out of frustration I pour a thing of seafoam injector cleaner in the car. Drives even worse now. Can barely make it out of the driveway. Ugh i hate this car.
  17. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Building a logger harness at my desk as we speak. Can anyone confirm that this harness works with with the TechnoMotive datalogger software?
  18. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Changed knock sensor. Still the same. Changed CAS and set timing to +5 per the vfaq procedure: nothing changed. Change the coil pack (which is stupid hard to get out: nothing changed. : Pinned out MAF: Pin 1: 11.7v Pin 2: 5v Pin 3: 11.7v Pin 4: 5v Pin 5: nothing there Pin 6: 50 ohms...
  19. 13.1" cobra rotors backspacing (hat height)

I was considering going with the 4 pots but I think i might have more pad choices with the cobra one. Here are some links. DIY brakets and 4 pot setup RTM setup Discussion about offsets
  20. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Yeah i used VFAQ and did the whole process for the BISS and idle switch. Car will idle at 750 but it moves around a bit and sounds like its going to die. I wish i had a logger. I am going to try to make one, it would make this 100 times easier.
  21. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Thanks Mikus. I thought knock sensor would be a reach also. Unless it was pull out crazy spark in part throttle conditions. I sprayed some electrical cleaner on it but didn't help. I will pin it out when i get home.
  22. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Thanks for the offer but i think ill pass. Just hope this is it.
  23. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

If you lived down the street i would be down but Florida is pretty far. Is there anything wrong with getting one from autozone/napa? I am assuming there some re manufactured crap but it is what it is.
  24. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Just pulled the knock sensor off. Sticky, melted, can see the screw. So i am assuming this was the problem. Will post results once i try it out. If this isnt it i am running out of sensors to check!
  25. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Adjusted the BISS. Still does it. Adjusted the idle switch. Still does it. Changed the wires. Still does it. Change the plugs. Still does it. ECU part number says its out of a 1990-1992 awd talon. Ugh, i forgot how fun owning a DSM is.So part throttle NOTHING. But WOT it goes like its fine...
  26. 13.1" cobra rotors backspacing (hat height)

    Answered my own question
  27. 13.1" cobra rotors backspacing (hat height)

Looking for some 4 lug 13.1" rotors to use for with the 3000gt 4 pot upgrade. But need the backspacing (hat height) of the rotor to help narrow it down. Does anyone have this?
  28. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Sorry. No mods. Car is 100% stock beside that ecu was swapped in it when the original blew.
  29. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Jake,I am going to replace the BOV seal and turbo outlet seal because they seem to be leaking slightly. I can get to 20psi but it leaks down over time. I am about 99% sure this isn't the issue, the amount of non-metered air that could be leaking past them under vacuum (part throttle-where i...
  30. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

Just got in from the garage. Car didn't seem to have any major leaks did repair some minor ones but nothing huge (now i can get to 20psi on a boost check *but it leaks down pretty fast*). Car will idle and kinda run with MAF plugged in now. It is unresponsive and surgey when trying to drive in...
  31. Car runs rough with MAF plugged in (a known good MAF)

I just purchased a 92 VR4. Car would barely run with the MAF plugged in. Thinking it was just a MAF I brought a know good MAF from a 93 TSI talon and swapped it but it didn't change anything. Car runs okay with it not plugged in but obviously not the greatest. I am thinking it's a intake leak. I...
