  2. RRE hood vents

Gotta love RRE! I called Tuesday and Mike answered the phone right away. He said he thought there were still a couple vents and he would have to find them and get back to me. Today he emailed to say he found the very last one they have and that he'll make a mold of it and make a new batch of...
  3. RRE hood vents

Thank you, that's great to know. I will call Mike tomorrow.
  4. Clutch pedal assembaly.

The lever at the end of the clutch pedal assembly that wears out is no longer available, unless somebody on here has an unused one lying around. Other than that I think your only option is to have your lever welded. The good news is that it won't wear out again.
  5. RRE hood vents

Thanks. I'll call them on Tuesday, as I'm sure they're not open today or tomorrow. If anyone else knows another source or has one to sell (in case RRE is completely out) feel free to chime in or PM me.
  6. RRE hood vents

Years ago RRE sold some hood vents, as seen in the attached photo, but they're not on RRE's website any more. I emailed RRE and asked about them but didn't get a reply. Anybody know if these vents are still available anywhere? I've searched and found many others but nothing that's the right size...
  7. Cylinder head tricks/mods to do?

Thanks. I'll polish the combustion chambers while I'm at it. Won't cost me anything except some time and a couple of buffs for the die grinder. Think I'll leave the pistons alone though lol. What's the consensus on opening up or radiusing the oil passage at the head bolt? Only for a head that's...
  8. Cylinder head tricks/mods to do?

My cylinder head will be going to the machine shop in the near future for a valve job and I’m trying to finalize a list of all the little things to do that will help this head perform its best. This is not a big power build or a drag car. It will be a fun street car making 350-380 hp max, so I...
  9. 152/1000

Nice! The missing bolts sound pretty scary. What brand is that rear brace?
  10. First post - longtime reader

Welcome to the board. I think you'll find plenty of people who can relate to your "adventures" with the first Galant. I'm in the process of resurrecting a project car that has sat for many years myself.Little side note: I noticed you said your car had lots of electrical problems after you...
  11. Alternator/Battery Issues again

The parts store rebuilt alternators for our cars are useless junk. I've been there and went through three of them, one failure after another in short order. I finally ponied up for a genuine Mitsu alternator from the dealer and never had another charging issue. The parts store rebuilds use cheap...
  12. transparentdsm

Clearly I am just one of Shane's many satisfied customers. We agreed on a price and shipping for an ECU. He sent it out the next day and gave me a tracking number. ECU arrived quickly, just as he described it. He paid more in shipping than he quoted me, but I'll make it up to him next time I buy...
  13. EVO 8 coils

In my searching I was reminded that the 1990 cars get the tach signal from a driver attached to the coil pack rather than from the ignition transistor. However it's a different signal. One sends positive pulses and the other is ground pulses. It *might* be possible to get the tach driver from a...
  14. EVO 8 coils

Anyone running an EVO 8 ECU tried using the stock EVO ignition coils? The 91 Talon I'm building is going to be a fun street car with modest power goals. I'm planning to use an EVO 8 ECU, and for the sake of getting everything running smoothly initially I'm going to use a matching EVO 8 MAS and...
  15. "New old stock" timing tensioner

That's exactly what I'm thinking. They're made to last tens of thousands of miles in service, under tension, heat, rusting, etc. Wrapped up and packed away for years is nothing compared to that.
