So I head into and get ready to park my car. Out of nowhere, there is a loud squealing/grinding noise that is coming from the right front tire area. I can't take a closer look at it until I drive the 60+ miles home.
There was no warning at all either. You hear the grind when I reverse too. Kind of sounds like a rusty rotor but that can't be the case after driving 60 miles.
Last time that happened it was on my Escort GT. Little warning as well. In that case, it turned out to be a siezed caliper.
Kind of wondering what the front piston setup is from the factory on this car as well. This car is full of suprises (everything has been modded by previous owner) and I wouldn't be surprised if the front brakes weren't stock either.
Are piston rebuild kits any good for stock brakes or do you generally swap the whole caliper?
Who knows what this is going to turn out to be...just want to see if anyone has experienced this.
Thanks
