I have an electrical problem with my lights.

My corner lights, side markers in the rear bumper, and dash lights are staying on regardless of key position or switch position.

I recently put in gauges in an a pillar mount and spliced the light power from the foglight/dimmer switch. Is it possible I'm jumping the light circuit? I'm easily stumped by electrical issues, so any help is appreciated.

I unhooked the switch from both connections and there was no change. Although, if I f'ed up the wiring it would remove the switch from the circuit anyways.

I'll remove the jumps and see.

That is likely what you have done, is permanently ground the lighting circuit. I believe the dimmer switch controls the ground side of the circuit so you need to correct that.

Yeah, the dash lights are variable ground. If you assumed that it was power and you have the ground to the gauge, plus another ground on the gauge, you've therefor got a permanent ground.

I solved my problem.

I had connected the plugs with bare ends for connecting a radio to the car plugs. That was what was jumping the connection.
