    MistaVR4

Steve is the man. Not only does he ship light-speed fast, but he is awesome with replying to PM's. I would most definitely do business with him in the future. He also uses exotic leopard print duct tape to seal his packages.

SOHC Auto to DOHC manual conversion

The ones on the bottom of those lines are for the DOHC axles (that ' mark is supposed to be a * ). The A/T and M/T are only for those in the AWD column.I didn't even read that when I posted it, but it looks like the DOHC axles are 2mm shorter. I am not sure if this alone would cause any...

SOHC Auto to DOHC manual conversion

Rivnuts would work. Just anything to secure the bracket to the firewall. There's also a rubber gasket that seals against that hole with the bracket.Regarding the axles for FWD models, the SOHC axles are different than those on DOHC models. The outer CV joints are different. I am pretty...

    Which fan is which?

The fan on the passenger side of the radiator is the cooling fan. The other one is for the A/C condenser.

SOHC Auto to DOHC manual conversion

I was actually able to fit a SawZall (reciprocating saw)(the VFaq says that there is not enough room on DSM's for this) with a metal cutting blade down there to cut the holes for mine, but I had to file the edges, as they were a little rough. I used a drill for the bolt holes. You will run...

    Annoying ABS..

The ABS lamp in the gauge panel has 2 paths to ground, one through the Hydraulic unit (relays and such in the engine bay), and one through the ABS control unit (in the trunk):Click image to see full size. Pardon the crude arrows... (This is the same for both 1991 and 1992, by the way)If...

    Crankshaft Timing Plate Question

Edit: Actually, I see what you are driving at. If the timing mark is not in line with the crank pin... like here:Reversing the plate would definitely cause the timing mark to be off, at least according to this picture from the manual. To verify, I would check to see that the number 1...

    Crankshaft Timing Plate Question

If memory serves me correctly, the plate is flat, and aligned via a side pin in the end of the crank. So, even if it were installed backwards, I think it would still give the same timing mark location.

SOHC Auto to DOHC manual conversion

Quoting Justin_Cosgrove: Ok, another question. I've got the money to buy all the parts I need plus have a heap left over so I will be starting the conversion next week. I have the oportunity to buy one of two engine harnesses, a VR4 harness or a standard N/A dohc harness for my motor. The vr4...

SOHC Auto to DOHC manual conversion

Other than those mentioned, things should be good. It's a good thing that you don't have cruise, otherwise things would be a bit more complicated. Nothing to worry about there though.Good luck!
