Many months ago I purchased the chassis restoration kit from them that included a two-part rust converter, rust encapsulator and the chassis black coating. I've used a lot of it, but still have about 12oz or so of the Part A rust converter, and enough Part B for it (they recently went to a premixed version and did away with the two part). I went to use it yesterday, and it had turned to a jelly like texture that I can't even get out of the jug. I found that if I went ahead and mixed Part B with some of it, it went back to normalish texture and could be used, so I sent Eastwood an email asking if I could mix mineral spirits or laquer thinner with it to thin it back out. Here is my message, with their return following:

Comment: I have the 32oz bottle of rust converter (part A) and have a problem. It has turned to a gel, and is still half full. It's been sealed, so I don't know what caused it. I was wondering if there is something I can mix with it to re-hydrate it, like mineral spirits or laquer thinner, but not activate it. If I put some in a cup and mix Part b with it, it goes right back to normal. I just hate to waste 16oz of converter.

Response:
Unfortunately, the problem that you are having is the reason that we switched to the one part Rust Converter - the product turning to a gel. Once it gets that way, there is nothing you can do with it other than discard it. I will have one of the new one part quarts of Rust Converter sent out to you at no charge to replace what you have there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yup that's right, they are sending me a new bottle, free of charge. I got delivery confirmation details today, and am pretty impressed they would do that, when I was just asking about it. Stuffs not cheap either, the invoice says it was $32. Definitely don't hesitate to use them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worthy.gif
